张春霖教授字震东,系蒙族镶黄旗之后,原姓巴伊特,1897年农历2月21日生于河南省开封,1963年9月27日因心肌梗塞突然病故于北京中关村,亨年66岁。是我国现代鱼类学创始人及奠基人之救授幼年家贫、好学,1918年于开封师范学校毕业后。曾任河南省嵩县和乐小学教员(1919),巩县(1920)及开封市(1922)高等小学校教员及校长,后幸遇我国现代动物学创始人及奠基人之一秉志教授返乡探亲,表示可助他提供勤工俭学机会。他即辞职去南京,任生物系助理员(1922年4-6月)。
