在网络视频系统中,服务器带宽成为了制约系统规模增长的重要瓶颈,而视频点播系统的交互性又对服务器带宽提出了更高的要求。为更好地支持大规模视频点播,该文对一类P2P视频点播系统的可扩展性进行了定量分析,指出可以通过优化客户端的数据缓冲策略来更好地利用客户端的存储和带宽资源,从而降低服务器的带宽占用。该文提出了一种最优缓冲策略,并通过分析和仿真实验证明,在特定的情形下,仅通过优化节点的传输策略,即可节约服务器20%以上的带宽,从而大大提高了P2P视频点播系统的可扩展性。
In the network video system, the server bandwidth has become an important bottleneck restricting the system size growth. The interactive nature of the video on demand system puts forward higher requirements on the server bandwidth. In order to better support large-scale video-on-demand, this paper quantitatively analyzes the scalability of a P2P video-on-demand system, and points out that the client’s storage and bandwidth resources can be better utilized by optimizing the client’s data buffering strategy Reduce server bandwidth consumption.
