The Stiglitz-Sentiff-Titus Commission believes that happiness is multidimensional, that subjective and objective dimensions of happiness are equally important, and that measuring happiness should consider eight dimensions simultaneously: the material standard of living (income, consumption and wealth); the health ; Education; personal activities, including work; political sayings and governance; social connections and relationships; the environment (current and future conditions); economic and physical insecurity. These eight dimensions shape the well-being of people, many of which are neglected by traditional income measures. In his report, the Stiglitz-Sentière Committee made 12 recommendations on how to measure happiness. The best way to showcase the multifaceted nature of human life is material well-being or living standards, and their advice begins here too.
