一、绪言石川岛播磨重工业公司(IHI)从开始制造连铸机,就采用了中间带有轴承的分段辊作为铸坯的支承导辊。由于这种辊子直径小,可以排列得很密,挠曲也小,所以浇钢时板坯的鼓肚小。随着材质的改进和辊子冷却问题的解决,辊子寿命,若以通过辊子的铸坯累积数量计,则达到120万吨。现在世界上,有19台IHI—VEST型板坯连铸机在使用,有10台在建造中。这种连铸机的特点是浇注速度高,铸坯质量好;而小直径的分段支承导辊在这方面是起了很大作用的。
