芋头属于天南星科宿根性草本植物,其球茎富含淀粉、蛋白质和脂肪,可作蔬菜等,风味独特。具有适应性广,抗病,产量高,商品性状好,耐贮运等优点。 由于北方环境条件的限制和习惯的影响,种植较少。因此,我们于1995年开始连续三年在我校实验实习基地上进行引种,亩产1752公斤,取得了良好的经济效益,并总结了一套芋头密植栽培技术。现将其要点简述如下,以便于在本地区推广利用。 一、品种选择 芋头采用多子芋中的白梗芋。 作种用的芋头,宜选用顶芋充实、完整、无病斑、新鲜没有腐烂的子芋或孙芋或适口性差的母芋,于2月下旬左右,在温室中育苗。
