As early as the turn of the twentieth century, a century of desire for reflection and conclusion permeated the intelligentsia. This situation has continued until now. The current review and discussion of the tradition of Chinese modern literature, 1 in a sense, is also one of the expressions of this universal desire. Here, what this article intends to explore is neither the justification of such introspection and summary of desire nor the manifestations of the modern literary tradition as a phenomenon.
