On the morning of May 16, the Organiz ing Committee of the Pingyao International Photography Fes tival (PIP), 2003 held its first press releas eat meeting hall of the International Center of Photography in New York. The purpos e of the conference was to give a global profile to the PIP and attract more foreign photographers, studios and news media to come to Pingyao to take part in the annualartis tic extravaganz a. Mr. Marc Riboud, a well-known master of photojournalis m, and one of the several ardent supporters of the PIP, came to New York for the press release.
