From February 1983 to March 1987,64hepatic abscess patients were treated.Patientshad been randomly divided into two groups,the1st group of combined treatment with traditionalChinese herbs and Western medicine(32 cases)and the second,control group(32 cases).Bothgroups received similar treatment with Westernmedicines;however,the former group was alsoadministered herbs to activate Blood circulationand eliminate Blood stasis and to remove toxicHeat.Significant statistical differences wereobserved between the therapeutic effects of thetwo groups.
