本旅行报告译自博克塞(C·R·Boxer)汇编的《十六世纪的南中国》,(South China in the S ixteenth Ceutury,Haklugt Society,1953)书里共收集了三个十六世纪欧洲人到福建、广东的行纪;《拉达出使福建记》就是其中之一,系根据西班牙圣奥斯定会修士加斯帕·德·圣奥斯定所著《菲律宾群岛的征服》(马德里,1698)中收录的原报告译为英文。博克塞是美国芝加哥大学教授,主要研究欧洲和东方的交往史,著述颇多,在西方学术界享有盛名。一九八二年曾经前来我国,到北京、西安、泉州访问并进行学术交流。他治学严谨,在译注本文时,尽管不谙中文,仍特邀中国学者给他译出有关史料。《拉达出使福建记》是实地访问的奥斯定会主教的原始记录,写于1575年末或1576年初,门多萨(Mendoza)编篡出版的著名的《中华大帝国史》(罗马,1585),其第二部分第二卷主要取材于此文。行纪中不乏有价值的第一手资料,宅比较具体生动地记载了当时福建沿海港口城市、农村的状况和官场的礼仪规制,对于我们研完明代中西交通史、天主教入华传教活动以及福建地方史,具有一定的参考价值。
This travel report has been compiled from the book Collection of South China in the Sixteenth Century Society (1953) by C. Boxer, One of them was one of them based on the theory of “the conquest of the Philippine archipelago” by the founder of Gaspar de Santos in St. Augustine, Spain ( Madrid, 1698) included in the original report translated into English. Bokcese is a professor at the University of Chicago, the United States mainly to study the history of exchanges between Europe and the East, writing a lot, in the Western academic world-renowned. He came to our country in 1982 and visited and conducted academic exchanges in Beijing, Xi’an and Quanzhou. He rigorous scholarship, in the translation of this article, although not familiar with Chinese, still invited Chinese scholars to translate the relevant historical data. The Book of Rhapsody in Fujian is the original record of Ossetian bishops who visited the field and was written in 1515 or early 1576 in the famous History of the Great Chinese Empire compiled by Mendoza (Rome, 1585), the second part of the second part of the main draws from this article. There is no lack of valuable first-hand information in this book. The home contains more vivid records of the coastal port cities and rural areas in Fujian at that time and the ceremonial regulation of the officialdom. As for the study of Sino-Western traffic history in Ming and Ming Dynasties, Local history, has a certain reference value.
