At the same time, Amy Tan’s original The Joy Luck Club had an impact on the literary world. There are also some domestic scholars who have translated it. The latest and most recognized version of this translation is the one published by Cheng Nai-shan in 2006. This article attempts to evaluate these positive mistranslations which are produced both in language and culture by using Chemsmans’ translation ethics model. Finally, it is pointed out that mistranslation in literary translation is not always negative. Only by fully understanding the linguistic connotation and cultural extension of the original text can better accomplish Chinese translation of Chinese American literature through the combination of naturalization and alienation, To promote cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
