The Community Health Service is an important part of community building. It is led by government leaders, community participation, and higher-level health institutions. It is based on grass-roots health institutions, with general practitioners as the backbone, and rational use of community resources and appropriate technologies. Focusing on people’s health, family units, communities as a range, and demand as a guide, women, children, the elderly, chronically ill patients, and handicapped people should be focused on solving major health problems in the community and meeting basic health service needs. The purpose is to integrate prevention, medical care, rehabilitation, health education, and family planning technical services into one, which is effective, economical, convenient and comprehensive.
