灵石县位于山西省中部,晋中盆地南端,东靠太岳山与晋东南地区的沁源毗邻,西连吕梁山与吕梁地区交口、孝义县接壤,南接临汾地区霍州、汾西,北邻介休,总面积1206平方公里,总人口20多万,属山岭重丘区;境内矿产资源丰富,“红、黄、兰、白、黑”五色俱全,大运公路纵贯全境,是我省南北交通的咽喉要塞。
