我省位于祖国西南,正跨居我国东部和西部不同特征的地质构造区的分野的重要位置。以龙门山——“康滇地轴”一线以东的盆地地区为地台区,以西的高山高原区为地槽区。因之,我省不仅幅员辽阔,而且地质构造复杂多样,为各种矿产的形成和富集构成良好条件,也是研究我国地质构造的一个关键性地区,故早为国内地质工作者所重视。
The province is located in the southwest of the motherland and is now occupying an important position in the geography tectonic zone with different characteristics in eastern and western China. The basin area to the east of Longmen Mountain - “Kang Dian axis” is the platform area, and the west alpine plateau area is the terrane area. As a result, the province not only has a vast territory but also has a variety of geological formations, forming favorable conditions for the formation and enrichment of various kinds of minerals. It is also a key area for studying the geological structure in China. Therefore, it has long been valued by domestic geological workers.
