近一两年来出版的文艺作品,大都有“内容提要”,这对读者很有用,特别是给像我这样的图书管理人员以莫大的便利。图书馆员要向读者推荐作品(无论口头或写成广告),他不可能把每部书都看过,即使看过了也不一定能够简单、准确地述说其内容梗概,书籍的“内容提要”帮助他们解决了这方面的困难,是他们在工作中不可或缺的“助手”。记得当我把《林海雪原》的内容说明贴出去时,很多读者看了以后立刻争着借阅,他们说再忙也得挤时间看看这样的好书。
Most of the literary and artistic works published in the past year or two have “executive summaries”, which are very useful to the readers, especially to the librarians like me. Librarians who want to recommend their works to readers (either verbally or in advertisements) can not read every book, and even if they read them, they can not simply and accurately describe their contents.
