Our journal No. 3 of 1986 published two essays, “A New Tunneling Through the Rocky Mountains” and “Bidding of the Canadian Rocks Pass Tunnel.” It is a briefing on the bidding and construction of the long tunnel of McDonald’s Railway in Canada (near Kang’nt Te Tunnel) and the general introduction of the ventilation scheme for operating a diesel locomotive running through a single long tunnel. The tunnel is divided into Two and a half, to solve the ventilation problem, a reference value. However, the installation of ventilation curtains in the middle of the tunnel and the tunnel did not know much about how it operated. It was only learned that a 14.7 km long tunnel could be traversed by a heavy-load train for half an hour on a 10 ‰ grade. This article focuses on the operation of the tunnel ventilation scheme and the operation of the thumbnail to give readers a more clear concept.
