I. Summary of contents Most of China’s building structures and engineering structures use reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures and components. The annual amount of steel used is about 13 million tons. Among them, the largest amount of steel is grade 1, which accounts for more than 60%, followed by grade II steel. Ordinary reinforced concrete structures reinforced with grades I and II are the mainstay of today’s building structures. Most prestressed concrete structural members use cold-drawn low-carbon steel wire or high-relaxation ordinary carbon steel wire, which has poor adhesion to concrete. In 1992, the national production of prestressed concrete was about 15 million cubic meters, and cold-drawn low-carbon steel wire was used.
