原子能的利用,雖是科學史上的最大成就,由於原子彈的出現,可是也帶來了可悲的機運,致使我們在五年來和平的生活中,為了原子武器的破壞性能,一天一天的在增大,新的戰爭暗雲密怖,在我們的心理上遮加莫大的暗影。我們大多數的日本科學工作者,一面是堅持以發展科學反對法西斯的侵略戰爭,爲保衛世界持久和平而努力。一面針對著帝國主義者強橫壓迫,加緊我們自己的團結,為了尋求發展科學爲和平建設服務
Although the use of atomic energy is the greatest achievement in the history of science, it has brought about a tragic fortune because of the atomic bomb. As a result, in the course of five years of peaceful life, we have been increasing day by day for the destruction of atomic weapons. The dark clouds of the new war are gloomy and hide a great shadow in our mind. Most of our Japanese science workers, on the one hand, work hard to defend the lasting peace in the world by adhering to the aggressive war of science against fascism. In view of the tyrannical oppression of the imperialists, stepping up our own solidarity and seeking to develop science and serve the cause of peace
