西安古称长安,地处关中平原、渭水之滨,是我国古代文明的发祥地之一,文化悠久,古迹繁多,但历史上这里还没有形成过一个有影响的画派。到了20世纪60年代,一个以赵望云、石鲁、何海霞等为代表的西安美术团体,在北京等地组织了一次巡回展。他们以表现黄土高原古朴倔强为特征的山水画和勤劳淳朴的陕北农民形象
Chang’an, anciently known as Xi’an, is located in the Guanzhong Plain and the Wei River. It is one of the cradles of ancient civilizations in China. It has a long history and many monuments. However, it has not yet formed an influential school of painting here. By the 1960s, a group of Xi’an art organizations represented by Zhao Wangyun, Shi Lu and He Haixia organized a roving exhibition in Beijing and other places. They are characterized by the ancient stubborn loess plateau landscape painting and hard-working simple image of farmers in northern Shaanxi
