Asahi Kasei Corporation recently held the inauguration ceremony for the plastic composite plant (located in Athens, Alabama, USA), which is the second plastics plant built by Asahi Kasei Plastics North America (abbr. APNA) in the United States. Mr. Greg Canfield, Secretary-General of the Department of Commerce of Alabama, and Mr. William R. Marks, Mayor of the State of Athens, attended the ceremony. Asahi Kasei sets the global expansion of the compounding business as a key factor in the strategic growth of its engineering plastics business, so it is a composite facility in Asia and in the United States, Michigan, where APNA is headquartered.
