吴桐司令员去世一年了,战友们深深怀念他。吴桐是香港太古船坞的产业工人,1941年初被香港党组织派遗回到顺德参加广州市区游击第二支队,成为一名战士。以后转战中山,参加珠江纵队,又随部队挺进中区,参加广东人民抗日解放军。在人民军队的大熔炉中,他不断茁壮成长,到抗日战争后期,已经成为广东人民抗日解放军第四团团长;到解放战争后期,成为支队的军事指挥员,先后担任中国人民解放军粤中纵队第四支队副司令员、第六支队司令员。吴桐原来只念过小学,也没有进过正规的军校学习,他从工人到司令员,是一步步地锻炼出来的。他的个人成长史也就是广东中区人民武装斗争的发展史。他有四五年时间在部队基层磨练,打下扎实的基础。在他担任主力大队主力中队队长期间,参加了所有重要的战斗,出色地完成了各项战斗任务。他作战英勇,坚
Wu Tong commander died a year, his comrades deeply miss him. Wu Tong is an industrial worker in Hong Kong’s Swire Drylock. In early 1941, he was left to Shunde to participate in the guerrilla second detachment in Guangzhou by the Hong Kong party organization and became a soldier. After fought in Zhongshan, Zhujiang column to participate, but also with the advance of the army Central, to participate in the Guangdong People’s Liberation Army.
