In order to find out the prevalence of Entamoeba histolytica infection in the local area, we conducted a survey of different types of counties from October to November 1988. Ten villages were randomly selected as survey sites. Direct iodine smear microscopy. Results A total of 5,377 people were screened over the age of 1, 234 were found to be infected with Entamoeba histolytica, the average infection rate was 4.35%
