斯大林改造自然计划,向整个科学界提出了许多崭新的任务。因而,必须重新考虑综合地理考察的方向和方法论,使综合地理考察奉行这个方针:不仅要研究现象(客体),还要研究种种过程。地理学者的任务,除了要对现象的空间分布状况,加以描述(确认)以外,还应该阐明个别现象以及整个自然综合体的发展途径与泉源。要达到这个要求,可以采用这样的方法:对于处在不同地理环境条件下的种种过程本身,以及对于这些过程的发展结果,不仅要研究出它们的性质上的特征,
Stalin’s transformation of the natural plan put forward many new tasks for the entire scientific community. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the direction and methodology of comprehensive geography investigations, so that comprehensive geographical surveys pursue this principle: not only to study phenomena (objects) but also to study various processes. In addition to the description (confirmation) of the spatial distribution of phenomena, the task of a geographer should also clarify individual phenomena and the development paths and sources of the natural complex. To meet this requirement, a method can be used: for the various processes that are under different geographical conditions, and for the development of these processes, not only their qualitative characteristics, but also their characteristics must be studied.
