本文是将要在以后几期中发表的四篇文章之一,着重最近试图描述的疲劳机理和抗疲劳失效设计中的当前趋向。本文,我们讨论什么是已知的疲劳机理—关于金属是怎样失效的现行理论和数据为什么这样多变。后面的文章将评述疲劳机理的模型化,抗疲劳失效设计的最新技术以及评述环境影响是怎样产生复杂应力状况而改变抗疲劳性能。疲劳失效是所有材料现象中最令人迷感不解的现象之一。它几乎始终是突如其来,难以预料并带有灾难性的结果。但是逐渐地,冶金师们对这个谜有了新的了解。本文叙述迄今为止冶金师们从抗疲劳设计中得出的推论已经认识到什么。
This article is one of four articles to be published in a later issue, focusing on recent attempts to describe fatigue mechanics and current trends in anti-fatigue failure design. In this paper, we discuss what is known as the mechanism of fatigue - the current theory and data on how metals fail, and why so many. Later articles will review the modeling of fatigue mechanisms, the latest techniques for designing fatigue-resistant fatigue, and reviewing how the environmental impact can create complex stress conditions that can change fatigue resistance. Fatigue failure is one of the most puzzling phenomena of all material phenomena. It is almost always sudden, unpredictable and catastrophic. But gradually, metallurgists have a new understanding of this mystery. This article describes what the metallurists so far learned from the inferences drawn from anti-fatigue design.
