从最早的黑白大幅面打印机问世,到今天12色大幅面打印机的推出,大幅面打印机已经成功应用于影像、数码打样、喷绘写真、地理信息系统和工程图纸打印等诸多领域。大幅面打印机已经成为影像传播时代重要的输出工具。2006年12月24日,惠普作为全球打印成像领域的领导厂商、影像传播时代的倡导者,参与了《文明》杂志和中国传播学会共同主办的传播学论坛,就影像传播的发展趋势及技术方面进行了深入地阐述。而作为影像输出工具的大幅面打印机,尤其是惠普刚刚发布的超越系列大幅面打印机也受到了与会各方的关注。
