Susan Strange’s theory of structural power is one of the important theories in international political economy. Her theory of interaction of production, security, finance and knowledge is an innovation of the traditional theory of power. Using Strange’s security architecture theory to analyze the security situation in the rise of East Asia, we can see that in East Asia, security structures dominate other power relations. Due to the intervention of the United States and the economic changes in the countries in the region, as well as historical issues, the security structure in East Asia presents a complex and ever-changing form. Under the new era, the security model that dominates East Asia will no longer be confrontation and war, but rather the coexistence of competition and cooperation.
