1991年12月19日,中共中央总书记江泽民视察贵州工作抵达遵义,已是下午5时,他不顾旅途辛劳,就风尘仆仆地直接从机场乘车来到遵义会议纪念馆.江总书记兴致勃勃地参观了遵义会议会址、红军总政治部旧址和遵义会议辅助陈列室,直到华灯初放才参观完毕.当纪念馆同志请总书记题字时,江总书记当即慨允.他提笔挥毫,敬录了毛泽东《忆秦娥·娄山关》词句:“雄关漫道真如铁,而今迈步从头越”.
