2003年2月18日,在新进中央委员会的委员、候补委员学习“三个代表”重要思想和贯彻十六大精神研讨班结业式的讲话中,胡锦涛总书记指出:“三个代表’重要思想是以发展这一主题来贯穿的。代表中国先进生产力的发展要求,代表中国先进文化的前进方向,代表中国最广大人民的根本利益,都突出了发展这一主题。”在兴起学习“三个代表”新高潮过程中,加深“三个代表”重要思想对党的发展观新阐发的理解,具有重要的理论和实践意义。
