In September 1983, I, together with two other comrades who had just been assigned to Xinhua News Agency, went to internship with Xinhua News Agency Shandong Branch. Before our first interview, Comrade Nan Zhenzhong, then the head of the Shandong branch, talked with us for half an hour. There are a few words I remember very clearly till now: “When you first arrived in Xinhua News Agency, you may still be reveling in the joy of distributing well and feel that when journalists can go to heaven, it is very interesting, but you should erase the romantic color in your mind, To be prepared to endure hardship, not only should we be prepared to endure hardships in our lives, but we should also be prepared to suffer hardships in our thinking. ” At that time, I was ignorant of these words, especially for “hard-working ideology”. It is eight years. Eight years of working experience in journalism made me realize more and more profoundly: It is one of the basic functions of a party’s journalists that it is willing to endure hardship and endure hardship from life and ideology.
