为采访叶锦添,我特意买了一本他写的书《繁花》。书不厚,文字也不多,有很多图片,内容有的是他的摄影作品,有的是他在电影里为人物做的造型。他的文字非常感性,有些淡淡的感伤,偶尔像一个青春飘忽而敏感的少年穿梭在都市的滚滚红尘,内心却充满了对生活的幻想。起初我对他的印象是模糊的,看他设计的人物造型,看他的电影美术设计,却又跟他书里的感觉对不上号,电影里的他是强大的,细致的,自我的,充满征服感的。看那一串串跟他有关的名字《大明宫词》,《橘子红了》,《霸王别姬》,《龙虎风云》,《诱僧》,《恋爱中的宝贝》,以及那部在奥斯卡上为天下华人争足了面子的《卧虎藏龙》。再看眼前的叶锦添,还是觉得不像是同一个人,眼前的他带着棒球帽,黑色衣裤,白色运动鞋,眼镜,肩上挎着大大的书包,像个大学里逃课的学生。他的笑憨憨的,很孩子气,心无城府。他说话很慢,很谦虚,喜欢说我们,而从不说我,评价别人时也会加上我认为或我觉得这类比较缓和的词。
