目前,我国在硫酸生产过程中自接触室排弃的失效的钒催化剂,大多被排入江河或偏僻地,也有建一专门设施逐年堆放成了累赘。这不仅污染了环境或给企业背上了沉重的包袱,更是二次钒资源的极大浪费。据某厂取样分析:折含五氧化二钒高达5%左右,有较高的回收价值。鉴于废钒催化剂中的钒主要呈四价态,它易被酸浸出等特点,对废钒催化剂进行了酸浸,碱性低温直接氧化,石灰—碳铵法提钒工艺的试验。钒的总回收率在80%以上,不仅无废气产生,还可达到以废治废的目的,有利于环境保护。
