解放战争时期,东北解放区的文艺,是在一片荒凉的文化废墟上建立起来的.其文艺骨干,最初都是从关内各解放区来的.“八一五”日本投降后,延安马上组织了东北干部团开赴东北.其中包括一大批文艺干部,组成两个文工团.东北文工一团以鲁迅艺术学院为基础,东北文工二团以青年艺术剧院为基础.1945年11月,延安鲁迅艺术学院也奉命随同延安大学一同迁往东北.鲁艺于1946年秋到达东北,1946年冬到佳木斯,改名为东北大学鲁迅文学艺术学院.另从延安及其他解放区调来一批美术工作者,组成了一个东北画报社.还有从华中、山东来的一批文艺干部、文艺团体分属各部队或散属于各省.这些就是开辟东北解放区文艺工作的主力队伍.
