The severity of hepatic encephalopathy grading is currently no gold standard, mainly based on WestHaven grading standards and mental intelligence tests. Recently, Dahaba et al. Studied the evaluation of bispectral index (BIS) on the classification of hepatic encephalopathy. BIS was originally designed to test the effects of sedative drugs on electroencephalography (EEG). BIS can accurately translate EEG changes into numbers from 0 (equipotential EEG) to 100 (fully awake)
