头颈部枪弹伤已成为美国医学、经济、社会的重要问题,估计每年枪弹致死3.3万人,未致死者更多,迫切需要外科医师精通弹道创伤学、解剖学、复苏术、外科诊断学。该文报道得克萨斯卫生科学中心附属休斯顿医院1991年收治的头颈部枪弹伤90例,男73例,女17例,多为11~20岁黑人,手枪是最常用的武器。武器的杀伤力与子弹在撞击物上的动能成正比,其方程KE=mv~2/2(KE指动能,M质量,V速度)是决定运动的任何子弹动能的基本定律,
Head and neck gunshot wounds have become an important medical, economic and social issue in the United States. It is estimated that 33,000 people are killed in bullets each year and that more are not killed. There is an urgent need for surgeons to be proficient in ballistic trauma, anatomy, resuscitation and surgical diagnostics. The article reports that 90 cases of head and neck bullet wounds were admitted to the Houston Hospital affiliated to the Texas Health Science Center in 1991, including 73 males and 17 females, most of whom were 11 to 20-year-old blacks. Pistols were the most commonly used weapons. The lethality of a weapon is proportional to the kinetic energy of the bullet on the impactor.
