Objective To investigate the effect of BmK AS 1 on TTX R sodium currents in rat DRG neurons. Methods The whole cell patch clamp recording technique was used in this study. Results BmK AS 1 suppressed the amplitude of the TTX R sodium currents in a dose dependent way. The inhibition effect was irreversible at high dosage. Conclusion BmK AS 1 significantly inhibits the TTX R sodium currents and that may acconnt for its analgesic effect.
