晚清翻译小说发达,其中日语小说占了很大的比重。它不仅指日本小说,还包括经过日语翻译的其他国家的作品。也就是说,日语小说成为晚清引进世界文学的一条重要途径。通过对晚清日语小说的整理,可以看出译者多活跃于上海与东京,而刊载这些作品的媒体或出版社亦大多创办于上海或东京,且译者多从事报业活动。这说明了上海在其中起到重要的中枢作用。
Late Qing fiction developed, in which Japanese novels accounted for a large proportion. It refers not only to Japanese novels, but works in other countries that have been translated by Japanese. In other words, Japanese novels have become an important way to introduce world literature in the late Qing Dynasty. Through the collation of Japanese novels in the late Qing Dynasty, it can be seen that the translators are mostly active in Shanghai and Tokyo. Most of the media or publishers who publish these works are also founded in Shanghai or Tokyo, and the translators are mostly engaged in newspaper activities. This shows that Shanghai plays an important central role in this.
