随着计算机技术、微电子技术和网络技术的不断进步,视频处理与应用技术有了很大的发展,而网络技术的普及也为视频会议的高速发展带来了机遇。在网络化的今天,无论是有线技术还是无线技术都在朝着宽带化和IP化方向发展,而宽带化网络的基本特征就是能够充分地支持多媒体业务,支持不同速率、不同质量的视频业务。而网络视频IP化的发展,也为网上会议电视的发展提供了广阔的发展空间。
