[Objective] To analyze the chemical composition of the essential oils obtained from leaves of A.annua from Gansu Province of China.[Method] Essentials oils were extracted by the steam distillation and their chemical composition were analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS).[Result] Twenty-seven compounds were identified from the leaf oil.Among of them,cedr-8-en-13-ol(17.77%),eudesma-4(14),11-diene(17.68%),torreyol(4.63%),β-farnesene(4.30%),caryophyllene(3.03%),borneol(2.88%),caryophyllene oxide(2.83%),ledol(2.72%) and camphor(2.39%) were found to be the major constituent of the oils.[Conclusion] It’s worth noting that cedr-8-en-13-ol and eudesma-4(14),11-diene have few reported in essential oil of the other origin A.annua.
