天野之弥(Yukiya Amano),国际原子能机构下届总干事人选。1946年5月9日出生在日本神奈川县,1972年毕业于东京大学法学系,精通国际裁军和核不扩散问题,曾参与1995年延长《不扩散核武器条约》、1996年《全面禁止核试验条约》和2001年《禁止生物武器公约》的谈判,在裁军、防止核武器扩散、核能政策等方面经验丰富。2009年7月2日,国际原子能机构理事会在维也纳举行特别会议,投票推举下任总干事人选。天野之弥获得了机构35个成员国中23个国家的支持,被推举为新一届总干事人选。
Yukiya Amano, candidate for next International Atomic Energy Agency director-general. Born in Kanagawa, Japan on May 9, 1946, graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1972 with a mastery of international disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation issues, participated in the Treaty on the Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in 1995, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in 1996, And the 2001 “Convention on Biological Weapons BW” and has rich experience in disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear energy policies. On July 2, 2009, the IAEA Board of Governors held a special meeting in Vienna to vote for the next candidate for the post of Director-General. Amano won the support of 23 of the 35 member countries of the Agency, being elected as the new candidate for the post of director.
