Objective: To investigate the changes of aortic stiffness and hemorheology in patients with impaired glucose regulation (IGR). Methods: Forty-one patients with impaired glucose regulation (control group) and 30 healthy control subjects (control group) were enrolled in this study. Fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose, blood rheology, body mass index, systolic blood pressure, Pressure, pressure, pulse wave velocity (PWV) and other indicators of the situation. Results: PWV in patients with impaired glucose regulation increased significantly compared with the control group. The blood glucose and whole blood viscosity at 2h after meal were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: The changes of aortic function in patients with impaired glucose regulation are mainly the increase of stiffness and the increase of blood viscosity, which may have an impact on the occurrence and development of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in patients with impaired glucose regulation.
