自从1926年摩尔根《基因论》发表到现在,70年过去了。如今“基因”已为成生物学中最基本的、应用最广泛的概念之一。这里发表的是沈善炯院士撰写的有关这位遗传学巨匠的一些历史事实,值得一读。回顾历史是为了更好的展望未来。摩尔根重视生物学和其他学科的结合,他认为科学家之间不单纯是竞争,还应相互交流合作。他虚怀若谷,倡导百家兼容的精神及对培养科学人才的责任心,对今天生物科学的发展仍有很大的意义。
70 years have passed since Morgan’s Gene Theory was published in 1926 to the present. Now “Gene” has become one of the most basic and widely used concepts in biology. Here is published some of the historical facts written by Academician Shen Shanjiong about the genetics masterpiece, worth reading. Looking back on history is to better look forward to the future. Morgan attaches great importance to the combination of biology and other disciplines, he believes that scientists are not simply competition, but also mutual exchange and cooperation.
