中国科学院为了检阅稀土研究工作,加强与生产应用部门的横向联系,实行开放政策,进一步推广稀土研究成果。于85年1月16日～19日在北京召开“中科院稀土研究工作讨论会”。中科院有关学部、中科院从事稀土研究工作所属研究所、有关省市自治区和部属稀土领导机关、研究所、高等院校以及稀土生产应用的产业部门的代表共47个单位93名代表参加了会议。
Chinese Academy of Sciences in order to review the work of rare earth, strengthen the horizontal linkages with the production and application sectors, the implementation of an open policy to further promote the research results of rare earth. On January 16, 1985 ~ 19, held in Beijing, “Chinese Academy of Sciences Rare Earth Research Symposium.” Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute engaged in rare earth research institutes, provinces and autonomous regions and affiliated rare earth leading organs, research institutes, institutions of higher learning and rare earth production and application of industrial sector representatives a total of 47 units 93 delegates attended the meeting.
