Fluoroboron anion BF_4 ~ - and the methyl blue cations form a blue complex, slightly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as dichloroethane. Color reaction sensitivity, can be used for the determination of trace boron. The effects of color conditions and interfering ions have been documented in the literature. This work using trace extraction technology, using homemade polyethylene extraction tube and domestic 72 spectrophotometer, the minimum amount of boron can be determined to 1 × 10 ~ (-8) grams. When trichlorosilane and silicon tetrachloride sample 20 ml, the relative sensitivity of the method is 3 or 4 × 10 ~ (-8)%.
