Homeobox gene (HOX) is an important class of transcriptional regulators. Its expressed protein regulates embryonic development and cell growth and differentiation through sequence-specific DNA-binding activity. Recent studies [1] found that HOX gene is abnormally expressed in a variety of tumors. Abnormal expression of HOX can interfere with the development of normal tissues and organs, resulting in abnormal morphology of the cells and even malignant transformation leading to tumor formation.
