一九八三年初,我国影片《城南旧事》在号称“具有世界水平的亚洲规模最大的电影节”——第二届马尼拉国际电影节上,荣获最佳故事片大奖——“金鹰奖”。喜讯传来,全国人民都为我国影片“冲出亚洲、走向世界”跨出可喜的一步,而群情振奋。一年一度的马尼拉国际电影节,于一九八○年,由菲律宾总统夫人伊梅尔达领导的世界电影节基金会发起并筹办。它诞生以来时间虽短,但由于荟萃亚洲各国较高的电影艺术,一跃而成为代表亚洲的头号综合性国际电影节。历届马尼拉国际电影节都非常重视中国的参加,它也已为我国电影爱好者所关注。
In early 1983, the movie “The Old City of South China” won the “Golden Eagle Award”, the best feature film award at the 2nd Manila International Film Festival entitled “The World’s Largest Film Festival in Asia”. As the good news came, all the people in our country took a gratifying step toward our film “Rushing out of Asia and Going to the World”, and the group spirit was exalted. The annual Manila International Film Festival was initiated and organized by the 1980 Foundation of the World Film Festival, headed by Philippine President Lady Imelda. Since its inception, it has been short, but has since become the number one integrated international film festival in Asia, thanks to the high cinematography of Asian countries. All successive Manila International Film Festivals attach great importance to China’s participation, and it has also attracted the attention of movie buffs in China.
