本文基于茅盾文学奖作品汉英平行语料库的子库——《长恨歌》汉英平行语料库,考察《长恨歌》英译本中程度副词的强化趋势。文章分别从英译本和汉语原文出发,统计分析英译本中程度副词的应用和汉语原文中程度副词的英译,结果发现《长恨歌》英译本中的程度副词存在明显的强化趋势,具体原因主要有4点:(1)程度副词的特点;(2)英语表达习惯的要求;(3)译者对原文人物悲剧形象的突出;(4)对目的语读者阅读习惯的关注。
This article is based on the corpus of the Chinese-English parallel corpus of the Mao Dun Literature Prize, the parallel corpus of “Everlasting Sorrow”, and the intensifying tendency of the degree adverbs in the English version of Everlasted Sorrow. The essay analyzes the application of degree adverbs in English translation and the English translation of degree adverbs in English translation from the English version and the Chinese version respectively. The results show that the degree adverbs in the English version of Everlasted Regret are obviously strengthened, mainly due to 4 points: (1) the characteristics of degree adverbs; (2) the requirements of English expression habits; (3) the translator’s original image of the tragic figure prominence; (4) the reading habits of target readers attention.
