17年前曾有一册精巧图书,一出版就轰动了整个传统家具收藏圈,曾多次再版,被业界力推为传统家具收藏爱好者的入门必读物,至今书中众多观点仍居学界前沿,其涉及之专业概念和理论更是后学者和当代传统家具从业人的良师教材。它就是由著名古家具研究学者张德祥先生语话录汇编而成的《张德祥说木器》。当今,传统硬木家具制造业如火如荼,红木家具市场更是炽烈兴旺,回首翻开这部近20年前出版的书册,仍感春风拂面,酣畅淋漓,更觉多年前未解迷障竟豁然开朗,快慰之至。得张德祥先生允肯,特将《张德祥说木器》一书不修一字,分几期原文转载,并配上精美彩图,以供广大读者、传统家具爱好者,尤其是传统家具业界同仁学习、实作之需。希望此书能于现今时代焕发它新的生命力,为传统家具业的发展与昌隆贡献余热,这是本刊编载此文的初衷,更是张德祥先生的衷心夙愿。
