“文学家是自己时代的儿子。”时代孕育了作者,也孕育了他们的作品。正因为如此,电视连续剧《新闻启示录》刚一问世,就得到了全社会人们的拥抱,也许又是因为它“喊出时代的最强音”了吧?前段时间由于某些戏剧“时代远,色彩淡,感情薄,节奏慢”,受到人们的冷落,以至于外国戏几乎一度占领北京舞台。我曾想,如今在话剧舞台上,多么需要这样呼唤时代的戏剧啊! 然而,读了《戏剧报》1985年第三期《话剧何以缺少旷世之作》,见作者马也同志把题材选择与题材处理手法在内的“争新抢先”,都论为“种种盲目、僵化和迷信的突出表现”了,不能完全同意。尽管作者在“争新抢先”之前加上“片面”的限定词,并且
