During the war, no matter where the troops are going, there are always many journalists accompanying the army. They will report the situation on the battlefield to the rear people in time, but sometimes they will be intentionally or unintentionally mixed with their speculation about the operations of the troops. Due to the long time with the troops, there will also be some accuracy in these guesses, bringing some unnecessary troubles to the troops’ operations. Therefore, how to prevent journalists from paying too much attention to the operations of the troops is indeed a headache for commanders. In World War II, Allied commander General Eisenhower had used an interesting tactic of “compromising” to achieve confidentiality.
