诸暨市是西施故里,古越文化的发祥地之一,人杰地灵,自然景观独特,五泄飞瀑、西施殿、斗岩大佛、名品珍珠、香榧闻名遐迩,2000年被国家旅游局命名为“中国优秀旅游城市”。诸暨市旅游投资发展有限公司成立于1999年,为国有独资的有限责任公司,受市政府的授权委托,统一经营五泄、西施殿、斗岩、汤江岩、博物馆内的国有资本。诸暨旅游已盛誉海内外,拥有浣江——五泄国家重点风景名胜区。以一水折成五级而得名,以瀑奇、寺古、峰秀、景幽而扬名。新扩建的西施故里景区,是绍兴地区唯一的一家省级旅游区,拥有栩栩如生的“诸暨大佛”、国家级攀岩基地的斗岩
