以回顾性调查研究的方法调查了接触石棉,吸烟和喉癌之间的关系。调查对象为多伦多总医院全部诊断为喉部鳞癌的男性住院病人。根据1974年5月1日的资料,这些病人是居住在多伦多市内的,共43名。按性别、居住地点与年龄挑选对照组进行配对。对照者为男性,居住于患者住房的右侧四个或更远些的房屋内,与患者年龄相差±5岁以内。调查了每个人首次接触石棉,铀、铬、镍、钴和砷的年龄和接触时间,并询问了接触X线、吸烟以及饮酒的情况。
A retrospective study investigating the relationship between exposure to asbestos, smoking and laryngeal cancer. Subjects were all male hospitalized patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx in Toronto General Hospital. According to the information of May 1, 1974, these patients lived in the city of Toronto, a total of 43 people. Paired by age-selected control group by sex, place of residence. The controls were men and lived within four or more rooms to the right of the patient’s housing, within ± 5 years of age of the patient. The age and duration of exposure of each individual to asbestos, uranium, chromium, nickel, cobalt and arsenic were investigated for the first time and were asked about exposure to X-rays, smoking and alcohol consumption.
